I was an
AmeriCorps VISTA with an amazing organization called
ThreeSixty Journalism two years ago. My job description was "volunteer coordinator," but in the first week, the executive director told me I'd be the resident designer of all brochures, flyers and web slides (and proceeded to wear many hats I wasn't necessarily qualified for in the next two years!). So, she paid for me to take an InDesign workshop and I fell in love with the Adobe Creative Suite. I'm totally self-taught with all the programs, but my interest in all things graphic and web design have only grown deeper since then. I'd also like to think I've improved since my first amateur project...
I decided to post the recent graphic work I've done. My boyfriend is an acoustic country/alternative musician and home-recorded his first EP in April. Knowing my design interest, he asked me to design the album artwork and a logo for him. This is all I've actually "done."
I decided to make this my first post because -- depending on how much freedom we get with our projects -- I'll probably do a lot of them centered around his new music endeavors.
We're both exploring our passions and it's fun to do it in tandem.
